In this video, I’ll share the main difference between tarot and oracle cards and how to decide which one is the right spiritual divination tool for you.
With the use of tarot and oracle cards, you can begin to develop a deeper connection with your soul.
These cards act as “magic mirrors” to confirm what you already intuitively know within.
I absolutely love geeking out about this topic so please share your questions below or check out my Tarot FAQ blog where I answer the most common questions I get about tarot and download a FREE Tarot Spread Guidebook to help you get started with 3 simple spreads.
Oracle Cards:
Oracle cards offer a “pull and play” experience. You don’t need to be a crystal ball reading psychic (like me!) to connect with your cards. Each deck is designed to highlight a certain area such as Goddess, Life Changes, and even Self-Love like my Shine From the Inside Oracle™.
Oracle cards are great for beginners who don’t know where to start (watch this video on how to get started reading oracle cards) but want to develop a deeper connection to their soul. They are also great for someone who doesn’t want to put in the discipline of learning the whole tarot card system.
What I love about oracle cards is that once you pull a card, you already intuitively know the meaning.
For example. below is my “Embrace Your Inner Divine Goddess” oracle card. By seeing the image and reading the mantra, you already get the essence that it’s time to reconnect with your inner power and embrace your sensual, creative side (think Beyonce!).
If you didn’t pick that up, then don’t worry, because oracle cards usually come with a guidebook to help you interpret and go deeper into the meaning. Like anything, with practice, you’ll get the hang of it. 😉

Tarot Cards:
Carl Jung describes tarot as an “intuitive method that has the purpose of understanding the flow of life, possibly even predicting future events, at all events lending itself to the reading of the conditions of the present moment.”
The tarot deck has been used as a divination tool for thousands of years. This structured system shows you how to understand the meanings of the cards so you can clearly connect with your soul and learn to understand the cycles of life.
“Divination is the quest to understand more about the past, present, and future. In other words, Tarot readings are an attempt to understand ourselves better and discover how we might live better in the future.” ― Theresa Cheung
Tarot cards have a traditional system of numbers, suits, and symbols that always remain the same. Each card represents a soul experience we go through as humans. Sadness, Grief, Loss, Celebration, Love, Creativity, New ideas, etc.
I like to think of tarot as a “magic mirror” that shows you exactly what you’re thinking, feeling, or experiencing emotionally at the moment in time by law of attraction.
Nothing scary, just brutally honest.
“The only scary thing about the tarot is it reveals the Truth.”
