“The only real valuable thing is intuition.”
-Albert Einstein
Hello Beautiful!
Ever notice how your mind is always moving? Thinking. Playing out scenarios. Sometimes playing out fears and worries. And yet sometimes, in rare flashes, we have a moment of stillness – clarity – absolute KNOWING. An a-ha moment. Don’t you just LOVE those moments? It’s as if the Universe says, “Ok now here’s the truth, be quiet and listen, and then BAM – a flash of genius.
It’s those moments that I savor and search for. I searched high and low. Traveled the globe. Tried moving. (A few times.) Tried selling all my things. Tried every type of yoga. Even talked to some psychics. The truth is…”the answer” was NEVER out there.
It was when I stopped searching for those moments and started creating more space for them to make their way into my imagination that I began to get into the flow with life. Like a synchronistic dance with the Universe.
“Life is the dancer and you are the dance.” – Eckhart Tolle
Life is always dancing. Moving. Each of us is a unique expression of the dance. A divine interpretation. We each bring our own style and flair. Allow yours to be different from the rest. That’s why we’re here. We each have something AMAZINGLY UNIQUE + INCREDIBLELY BEAUTIFUL to offer to the dance of Life.
Everyone has access to intuition. I mean, we’re females (we get it!) 😉 Intuition is like a muscle. The more you work it out, the stronger and clearer your connection is. The more you trust the guidance from within, you can begin to make empowered decisions from a place of truth + knowing.
Here are a few ways I like to get in touch with my Higher Self to open up a clear channel for magical insights + divine guidance.
#1. QUIET YOUR MIND + LISTEN
It is so important to create space for those moments of brilliance. Yoga + Meditation have been the key to unlocking my inner guidance on this spiritual journey. It’s like having a bestie on the inside!! These practices allow for the mental mind chatter to quiet down and cease (with practice!). When the mind is quiet, you can hear the gentle guidance from your heart. The more time you spend getting in touch with your soul center, the easier it becomes to decipher between the truth of your intuition and messy mind-madness of your analytical brain.
”Before you speak, it is necessary for you to listen, for God speaks in the silence of the heart.” – Mother Teresa
#2. ASK + NOTICE
Divine law says you must ASK before it is GIVEN. Prayer or a simple. “Hey, I need help with…” is suffice. Most importantly is your gratitude for the guidance that is coming to you and then space to receive the answer you’re seeking. Sometimes the guidance comes immediately and sometimes it comes in the form of a recommendation from a friend or even as simple as a random email that you would have never opened but feel like you just need to click it.
#3. TRUST YOUR GUT
Know what I mean when I say…you just…KNOW?! Your body provides powerful feedback. It’s a feeling in your body that says YEAH THIS IS DEFINITELY IT. Follow that. Always. Even if it seems strange or totally random. Those inner pulls that you feel are guiding you to be in the flow with life. The more you follow those gut feelings, the more synchronicities start occurring in your life. You feel as though you are totally in the flow with life. And it feels SO GOOD! 🙂
“Intuition is a sense of knowing how to act spontaneously, without needing to know why.” – Sylvia Clare
#4. JOURNAL
I used to just collect those pretty, inspirational journals that I came across at Barnes & Noble with the thought, “Of course I’ll use it…” and never did. About 3 years ago I finally cracked open one of those bad boys and I’ve been on a roll ever since. Who knew writing down your thoughts, ideas, and feelings would provide not only insight to my inner-self, but a roadmap to the journey each step this dance is taking me on. Try creating a healthy habit of an early morning journal jam session. It’s a great way to start off your day getting in touch with your inner-self. Use the pages of your journal to write down your goals + dreams. Your worries + fears. The questions that you’re seeking guidance to. And 10 things you’re grateful for in that moment. Writing this stuff down makes it even more powerful.
#5. GO OUTSIDE
Spending time in nature is a sure-fire way to connect with your Higher Self, spirit guides, angels and beyond. Nature is perfect. It reminds of us of our roots and provides a nurturing sense of peace + stillness.
“At times, you have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover is yourself.” – Alan Alda
#6. GET CREATIVE + PLAYFUL
Laugh. Play. Draw. Paint. Sing. Dance. Color outside the lines. Make cool shit. Go on adventures. Let yourself be FREE. Relax. Enjoy. HAVE FUN!!!!
“A woman knows by intuition, or instinct, what is best for herself.”
-Marilyn Monroe
