“Those who have no time for healthy eating will sooner or later have to find time for their illness.” – Edward Stanley
Have you ever wanted to start living healthier but didn’t know the do’s and don’ts of plant-based living?
It’s been ten years since we decided to ditch the processed chemicals and all the junk foods that drain your energy. During this time, we’ve watched numerous documentaries, read books, cooked a lot of new recipes, and continued to learn and experiment with what makes our bodies feel and operate at their best.
In this episode of The Elevated Life podcast, we’re sharing “The Do’s and Don’ts of Plant-Based Living” so that you can hear the tips and common mistakes we have learned over our ten years of being vegan. If you’ve ever considered transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle, you don’t want to miss this episode!

The Do’s and Don’ts of Plant-Based Living
Find Replacement Foods
One of the biggest things to remember when transitioning to a vegan diet is to be prepared and find replacement foods you love. This is a big change, but it can be a wonderful and fulfilling journey with the right mindset and preparation. Convenience foods like chips and other snacks can be a big trap, so be prepared for those moments when you’re craving something familiar.
Vegan Doesn’t Mean Healthy
Just because something is labeled as vegan doesn’t mean it’s healthy. For example, Oreos are vegan but not exactly good for you. It’s important to focus on whole foods that are sustainably grown and that you know where they came from. Just because something is labeled as vegan doesn’t mean it’s good for you.
Look Ahead At Restaurant Menus
When it comes to eating out, it’s important to be mindful of what you’re ordering. Before we went vegan, we never even thought to look at a menu before we tried a new restaurant. Now, we make sure to order whole foods-based dishes that align with our values and beliefs.
Be Prepared For Judgment
Making big changes in our food choices can be difficult, especially when it comes to social events. It’s important to remember that not everyone may understand your choices. When we started our vegan journey, we would often show up to events with our own food and water and decline any non-vegan options. But now, with more options available, we have found a balance. It’s important to hold strong in your choices and to be prepared for any judgment or confusion that may come your way.
