Using Traditional Chinese Medicine to Heal with Dr. Tamara Castelo
What is Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a dynamic approach to healthcare that has been refined over thousands of years. It focuses on the individual, taking into account their unique physical and mental characteristics, rather than just treating the disease or symptoms. This personalized approach to medicine can have a powerful impact on the healing journey, and many people have found TCM to be effective in addressing a wide range of health issues.
Spring is the Season of the Liver
Did you know that spring is the season of the liver? In traditional Chinese medicine, the liver is connected with feelings of anger and frustration, which might explain why we’re feeling all those emotions during this time of year. If our liver isn’t healthy, those emotions can get stuck and lead to all sorts of imbalances in our body and mind. But fear not, there are ways to support our liver’s health, like doing activities that help us release our anger and frustration. So go ahead and scream into a pillow or hit a punching bag – your liver will thank you!
The Emotional Aspect of Healing
It’s not always going to be sunshine and rainbows – the process of reconnecting with oneself can be a real challenge, and it can hurt like hell. But guess what? It’s absolutely crucial for our overall well-being. The journey towards healing is all about finding and connecting with our true selves while being mindful of our thoughts and actions. Let me tell you – disconnection is NOT the way to go. If you’re going through trauma or abuse, don’t hesitate to seek help. And let’s not forget about taking care of our physical health, too. Eating well, getting enough sleep and rest, and being mindful of our emotions can help us start to reconnect with ourselves and heal from past trauma.

INSIDE THE ELEVATED LIFE CLUB
When you think about it, we are all on a healing journey.
As an adult, have you ever wondered why you are the way you are or why you do certain things a certain way? Some people have trouble accepting compliments or taking criticism. Some people seek affirmation or fail to recognize their own accomplishments. Others struggle with the need for perfection or cling to relationships because they’re afraid to be alone. Most of these patterns originate from something that happened during childhood.
From the moment we enter this life, we’re on a wild adventure to discover more about ourselves and the world around us. We’re met with challenges and opportunities to face fears and unearth the greatness we have inside and develop strength and courage.
But not all parts of the process are enjoyable, and for some of us, the ‘school of life’ starts early with parents, teachers, and authority figures dictating who we are and what parts of us are acceptable. Even with the most well meaning of intentions, most of us experience some sort of trauma growing up, and the part of us that went through that needs our assistance in finding themselves again.
As children, we lack the tools and knowledge to help ourselves. As adults, it’s our duty to find, re-educate and love that part of us.
This month we are breaking free of the past and championing the inner child so you can live at your best in the Overcoming Trauma Masterclass.
