Let’s face it: stress is unavoidable.

We are all regularly affected by stress, and while some level of stress can actually be good for you, too much stress can take a serious toll on you mentally and physically. 

Sometimes life just happens, so it’s important to have some coping tools in your back pocket when the shit hits the fan.

In this episode of The Elevated Life®,  we’re sharing 3 Rules for a Low Stress Life. If stress has been getting in the way of you going after your big goals and dreams, you need to listen to this one!

Rule 1: Simplify

If you’re like most people, you probably set yourself up to make too many decisions throughout the day. Even small choices can start to pile up quickly and become overwhelming. Simplifying your life by creating routines and consistency, can help keep your stress levels low.

For example: Chris eats the same breakfast and lunch everyday. This removes 2 potential choices from his mind and helps him to focus on other things 

What in your life can you choose to cut out or delegate?

Rule 2: Let The Small Shit Go

If it’s not going to matter in 5 years, don’t spend more than 5 minutes on it. Stop wasting your precious life force energy on things that don’t matter!

Often when we think about letting things go, we end up avoiding them or not expressing our feelings. With this rule, you give yourself 5 minutes to cry, worry, or scream about whatever is stressing you out. Then after that 5 minutes, you can truly let it go.

Allowing yourself to recognize and honor the things that stress you out without letting them take over your life will help you to move on to the things that are the most important.

Rule 3: 7 or Above

The 7 or above rule is the underlying philosophy that has helped Chris and I to live a more elevated life. It helps us to set boundaries, cut out bullshit, and remove toxic people from our life.

Here’s how it works: for any decision that you make in your life, ask yourself “From a scale of 1-10, how does this sit with me?” If it’s not at least a 7, it’s an immediate no!

This will simplify your decision making process and help you to live an aligned life.
