What is your favorite tradition you have together?

Every Christmas, we go around and look at Christmas lights, but not just regular lights; we go to the neighborhoods with the biggest and most elaborate displays, where houses look more like museums than homes. It’s a sight to behold, with 20-30,000 square foot homes covered in an incredible number of lights. But more than just enjoying the beautiful lights, we use the time to talk about goals and aspirations for the next year ahead. Being surrounded by such wealth and abundance helps remove self-imposed limitations and see what’s possible for the future. Talking about our future visions inspires us to dream big and work towards achieving our goals. 

Q: What’s an obstacle you both faced recently, and how did you overcome it?

We’ve spent a lot of time changing how the business works, and with that, adding team members who are a perfect match for our artistic vision and mission has been a significant challenge. Hiring and firing can be emotional experiences, and it takes a lot of courage to make those tough decisions. Our business is not just a means of making money; it reflects our lives and values. So finding the right people to join our inner circle and believe in this mission is crucial.

Q: What’s been your favorite topic that you’ve taught in the Elevated Life Membership Club?

After six years of monthly masterclasses, there’s a wealth of topics to choose from! Perfectionism and badass Empath pop out the most because it’s the start of so many problems for people. Also, teaching on the business side of things, like how to turn your passion into a side hustle, has been a favorite to help others harness their power and reach their dreams.

Q: What are some tips for making new friends as an adult?

The key is to put yourself out there and be open to new experiences. Start by attending events or joining clubs that align with your interests. Strike up a conversation with someone who seems friendly and approachable. Show genuine interest in their life and listen actively. Be bold, take the first step, and invite someone out for coffee or to try a new activity together. Friendships take time and effort to develop, so be patient and keep showing up. Remember, the more you give to others, the more likely they will reciprocate and become true friends.

Q: I’m dying to come to your retreat. They look amazing, but I’m nervous about being around other women. People have judged me in the past, so I’m not sure if I can be vulnerable around strangers. I’m not great at being vulnerable, even with myself. What do you recommend?

Attending a retreat for the first time can be intimidating, especially if you struggle with vulnerability and have been judged in the past. But it’s important to remember that you aren’t alone because many women who come have similar fears. Acknowledge and validate your feelings, but also take the leap and attend if you feel it’s right for you. When you invest in your personal growth, the connections you make and the experiences you have are truly transformative. That vulnerability can be a powerful tool for creating deep and lasting relationships with the other women who attend. Don’t let fear hold you back from the opportunity to change your life for the better!
