1. Get back to Basics
This step is often skipped, but it’s one of the most important! Anytime you’re starting something new, you should strip down to the most basic parts of your life.
Take a look at your morning routine, the way you’re approaching your health and diet, and the way you’re running your business. In order to start fresh, you have to show up as the best version of yourself.
Making a change doesn’t mean doing more, it’s about transforming the basic routines that make up your daily life.
2. Decide who you’re going to be now
Every moment you are given the opportunity to show up as a more evolved version of yourself.
I used to have the nickname “Bitch-ney”, but all of that changed when I started to ask myself “What would a kind person do?” By creating a vision of that kind person in my mind, I allowed myself to transform into that person.
If you’ve spent your life being the victim, you can decide right now that you are the hero of your own life.
Create that character in your mind and embody it in everything you do.
3. Give yourself grace through the growing process
Anytime you go through a big change, it’s almost guaranteed that you will fuck up at some point. You will fall down and make mistakes. It’s important to give yourself grace, because these mistakes will help you to grow and evolve.
Over time, it will be easier to recognize and correct your old patterns.
The best gift you can give yourself is the awareness that comes with realizing that your old ways were not working.
Fresh starts are hard, so be easy on yourself and learn as much as you can along the way.
