How to Have a Summer of Fun

Make a List

Ask yourself, what’s going to light me up this summer? If you have a partner or a friend that you like hanging out with, get them involved in creating a list together. Just make a quick list of what feels fun to do and other things you’ve wanted to do and haven’t made space for. After that, think about who you want to bring along with you. Who are those cool people you want to invite into your life to experience those fun things with you?

Schedule It All

It’s important to schedule and prioritize play on your calendar because it isn’t going to happen if it’s not on the calendar. When you have all these ideas that you think would be fun, you have to plan it out and talk to the people you want to be involved with. When you get the fun activities you want to do on the calendar, everyone will be on the same page, and you can start to really have that kind of life you want. If you’re not intentional with scheduling, it will never happen.

Delegate Tasks

If you want to have more time, you have to do less stuff. If you think that you’re going to do everything that you usually do in your day, plus have another six to eight hours of play, it will not happen. So you have to figure out if there are any tasks you can offload that you don’t need to be doing. Be creative with finding someone who can help you clean or would be happy to take over any routine housework you need to do for a few months. To have the extra hours for play, you need to eliminate the routine tasks.
