1. Decide Who You Want to Be
Your subconscious mind doesn’t understand the difference between what you imagine and what you experience. When you make New Year’s resolutions and start telling everybody about it, buying the books, and picking out the running shoes, your body releases dopamine and it feels great!
The problem? You’re not actually doing anything.
Take action: Don’t decide what you’re going to do, decide who you want to be. Then start showing up as that person day after day.
2. Purge everything that doesn’t authentically align
If you’re going to show up as this new and improved version of your authentic self, you need to release the things that are holding you back.
“If you want to be successful, burn the bridges.”
This doesn’t mean turning your back on people that are important to you, it’s a reminder to get rid of all the things that will allow you to walk in your old path.
Take action: Donate the clothes that don’t align with your health and weight loss journey. Unsubscribe from emails that don’t feel good. Hide people on Facebook that bring negativity into your life. Purge anything that doesn’t align with your goals.
3. Modify your daily routines
What you do on a daily basis determines your life. Our routines and our habits are what dictate whether we’re successful or not. Then once you figure out your habits, you need to incorporate a structure and routine. Learn how to create mindful morning rituals here.
Take action: Take a look at how your start your day, how you enter your house, and how you end your day. What can you modify to align more powerfully with your goals?
4. Educate Yourself
When you’re moving into a new habit our routine, education is key! Remember: this is all brand new, so let go of any belief that you’re stupid because you don’t know what to do. If there is a subject that you’re curious about, dive in and learn 1% more about it every day.
Take action: Invest in a course, buy a book, find a mentor – look for ways to educate yourself so that you feel supported in your new journey.
